Bio

Amiko's stage name was given to her by her babysitter, a Japanese elder, when she
was 2 years old. Born in Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan, her father was an Army Intelligence Officer with a desk job as a Staff-Sergeant. Her mother was a kindergarten teacher on a US Army Base in Chitose. In Japanese culture, "Amiko" means precious little girl. She was adored by local Japanese people, who often gave her attention as she was carried around the main street.
Her family later moved to Washington DC, where her father completed the remaining two years of his service at the Pentagon, before moving back to Minnesota with her younger brother when she was 4 years old. Growing up in a middle-class family, Amiko played outside, got into trouble, and enjoyed activities like pond hockey and soccer. She graduated high school with 7 friends from her block and many more from her neighborhood. Showing early signs of extreme competitiveness, Amiko explored various interests such as gymnastics, cheerleading, and sports.
At the age of 12, she began focusing on soccer. She eventually played for the Women's D-1 Development Soccer team at the University of Minnesota, where she won 2 Big-Ten Championships. Amiko first studied English Literature with a focus on writing. She then pursued freelance writing, hospitality management, sales and marketing. Eventually she joined two pediatric foundations, one of which was a non-profit start-up.
She later obtained multiple US Soccer licenses, reigniting her passion for soccer. She was teaching youth players while continuing to write poetry and lyrics. Her song, "Hat Trick" marked a turning point in her life, and she is committed to share her unique journey as the "first singing soccer coach in the world". Her aim is to inspire others to embrace their own creativity and pursue their goals at any stage in life. Amiko believes in the importance of perseverance, hoping to motivate others to keep striving for success, and living their best life!
